Abstract

Both sand and pebble beach systems in Tasmania show an overall decrease in height seaward which may be correlated with a fall of sea-level occurring while they were being formed. This fall from the postglacial Milford shoreline was of the order of 2 or 3 ft. in southeastern Tasmania, but about 5 or 6 ft. elsewhere.
