Pengaruh Literasi Informasi Bencana Terhadap Kesiapsiagaan Masyarakat dalam Menghadapi Bencana di Provinsi Jawa Barat

Abstract

West Java Province is one of the most populous province and the potential for disaster is high. So, the effort to minimize the impact of disasters is highly necessary. One of the efforts to minimize the impact of disasters is increase the literacy of disaster information. The literacy of disaster information can influence the preparedness level of people. The aim of this research is analyzing the effect of the literacy of disaster information to community preparedness in the face of disaster in West Java Province. This is a survey research that using qualitative method. Result of the research show that the literacy of disaster information influence community preparedness about 45%. The literacy of disaster information is built by four indicators that is (1) identifying and finding information (36%); (2) evaluating information (25%); (3) organizing and integrating information (26%); (4) utilizing and communicating information effectively and ethically (26%). The conclusion is the literacy of disaster information significantly influence community preparedness to face the risk of disaster in West Java Province.
