Hyperbase et Lexico 3, outils lexicométriques pour l'historien

Abstract

No lexicometrical tool has been worked out by historians for historians. For this reason, we have to use software developed by laboratories specialized in linguistical sciences. This contribution compares the fonctions of two among them, Hyperbase and Lexico 3. Proceeding through the study of a corpus of Saint-Just's speeches, allowing them to approach all of the steps useful to quantitative treatment of textual data (reading of the texts, external specificities, counting the forms, occurences and hapax, factorial analysis, internal specificities, correspondences, theme, lexical growth, distribution), the authors show that both softwares, far from copying or opposing each other, are complementary. Each one proposes its own fonctions (lexical distance under Hyperbase, treatment of repeated segments with Lexico 3 for exemple). Historians should use both simultaneously. © Éditions de l'EHESS.
