HEALTH INTERVENTION PROJECTS: STRATEGIC ACTION TO COMBAT CHRONIC AND NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES

Abstract

Objective: to assess the impact of Intervention Projects in the care of people with Chronic Non-Communicable Conditions in relation to the goals of the “Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries 2021-2030” Plan. Method: ex-post-facto impact assessment study, in which 337 Intervention Projects developed by health professionals who graduated from the Specialization Course in Care for People with Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases, in Santa Catarina, Brazil, between May 2022 and July 2023, were analyzed. The projects were structured in light of the Experiential Learning Theory as a framework and adopted content analysis through the software Atlas.Ti®. Results: the projects met several objectives of the “Non-Communicable Diseases” Plan in reducing obesity, increasing physical activity, and improving eating habits in children and adults. Most interventions focused on educational initiatives, of health promotion, helping to transform workplaces and healthcare practices. A local impact on health indicators was also highlighted, emphasizing the relevance of training based on practical experience. Conclusion: intervention projects have a significant impact on combating Chronic and Non-Communicable Diseases, contributing to the goals and reaffirming the role of educational strategies in professional qualification and the transformation of health practices.
