Abstract
The alkaloid pattern of Spartium junceum has been investigated. Cytisine, N-methylcytisine, anagyrine, rhombifoline and epi-baptifoline occur as major compounds in most of the samples studied. Considerable quantitative differences were found between various parts of the plant. The alkaloid content changed strongly dependent on the seasons. Only a limited variation can be ascribed to geographical origin. © 1990, Walter de Gruyter. All rights reserved.
