Abstract
This paper presents a procedure for rational design of high speed rotating disks. Optimum configurations are automatically calculated to satisfy the designer's objective within given constraints. The study illustrates the applicability of programming techniques to the optimal selection of the dimensions for such disks. The influence of the design criterion on the disk profile is demonstrated. © 1970 by ASME.
