Abstract

The great challenge of the Legislator in the Organic Law 1/2004 of December 28 regarding to Protección Integral contra la Violencia de Género (Law Against Gender Violence), has undoubtedly been, the creation of specialized judicial organs, Los Juzgados de Violencia sobre la Mujer (The Courts of Violence on Women). The need and convenience of an specialization in this area is based on two obvious reasons: first, the need to address in a specialized and joint way such a serious problem as gender violence is nowadays, which generates, around itself, different conflicts of an specialization in this area is based on two obvious reasons: first, the need to address in a specialized and joint way such a serious problem as gender violence is nowadays, which generates, around itself, different conflicts of criminal and civil nature (and, in many cases, of social assistance); and another, in the constant rise of this type of violence, which requires the creation of specialized organs which should be sufficient in number.
