Abstract

This research come from a reason how to reconstruction of development dangdut music as a national identity. During this time we know that dangdut music has a label as a nusantara music which come from acculturation and adoption from India music. Dangdut music that we enjoying today cannot be separated from political influence from old orde till new orde. This political power interesting to explored not only from art and culture perspective but also from the existence of dangdut music today. To answer those curiousity, this research using historical methode. Book and archive is a primary source in this research. Purpose of this research is reconstruction of rising dangdut music till making dangdut music as a national identity. Conclusion of this research is dangdut is genre of music which seen as identity, actually dangdut music come from acculturation between India, China, Melayu and Far East. In the Rhoma Irama era that called as Raja Dangdut (King of Dangdut) the rock music feel so deep in dangdut music. This is because influence of westernization come to Indonesia in new orde. KEYWORDS
