Abstract

The combination of additive manufacturing and forming is a new approach for hybrid components, to connect the advantages of high productivity of forming with the individualisation of additive manufacturing. Within this work, the combination of warm bending and laser beam melting is investigated. For a suitable design of hybrid parts, the investigation of the bonding zone between the elements is essential. Therefore, the bonding strength is characterized by shear tests in consideration of stress states resulting from the bending process. To evaluate the influence of the forming process, the results are compared to unformed hybrid parts, which show a distinct influence of the stress state.
