Abstract

Several distinct polarity complexes participate in the assembly of intercellular junctions. Two studies showing that some of the same polarity complexes are essential regulators of continued junctional integrity lead to a new appreciation of the relationships between assembly and maintenance of intercellular junctions and highlight unappreciated roles for endocytosis in these processes. © 2008 Elsevier Ltd.
