Abstract

In preparation for meiosis, chromosomes go through several massive structural transitions, including chromosome fragmentation, pairing and synapsis. A checkpoint factor and a SUMO ligase collaborate to keep things in order. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
