This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows:The aim of this systematic review is to evaluate alternative methods for blood loss estimation during the third stage of labour compared with visual estimation for the purpose of reducing the adverse consequences of postpartum haemorrhage after vaginal birth.
