Abstract

In this issue of Immunity, Shulman et al. (2009) describe shear-facilitated chemokine-induced adhesive filopodia on crawling T lymphocytes that scan the endothelial surface for potential sites of transendothelial migration. These filopodia facilitate a novel millipede-like mode of lymphocyte locomotion over endothelial cells prior to extravasation. © 2009 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
