Abstract

This paper presents a succession-level approximate reduction method to obtain a highly accurate condensation model for large scale structures. Distinct from the previous reduction techniques, all the inertia items can be embodied by using the Neumann series expansion. Then any level approximation can be achieved when the sufficiently accurate modal parameters are obtained. The first-order and the second-order approximate reduction equations are derived in this study. A numerical example is given to verify the proposed method. © 2009 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
