Abstract

In this issue of Molecular Cell, Bouvier et al. (2008) show that bacterial sRNAs can repress mRNA translation not only by binding to the Shine-Dalgarno element but also by base pairing anywhere within the first few codons of the protein-coding region. © 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
