Abstract

A review. Switchable rotaxanes are currently attracting considerable attention from chemists, physicists and materials scientists because of their potential to perform relative inter-component positional changes in response to external stimuli and the potential applications in the fields such as mol. machines, mol. switches, mol. logic gates and memory devices.
