Optical Multi-Sensor-Measurements in the shop are often affected by external influences which dominate the quality of the measurements and disable low uncertainties. In this approach simulations are carried out to estimate the uncertainty contributions when the gravity point is set on external influences as they dominate production environments. The results are gained by different simulation types and are validated on two applications. The systematic contributions on the measurement uncertainty can be partly compensated a priori and the needed test time as well as efforts for modifications of the prototypic measurement systems can be reduced. So, the presented method leads to reduced costs for designing and implementing optical multi-sensor-metrology for efficient production. © 2013 The Authors.
