Abstract

A study of the optical properties of the layered compound SnSe2 is presented. Reflectivity spectra were measured at room temperature, in the energy region 1.5-5.6 eV. Optical transmission measurements were measured in the temperature range 13-300 K. A structure attributed to excitonic absorption was observed and the temperature dependence of the broadening parameter is presented. The spectra of the optical constants n, κ, ε1, and ε2 are also presented.
