Optimalisasi Pengembangan Potensi Ekowisata Sebagai Objek Wisata Andalan di Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara Provinsi Kaltim

Abstract

Purposes of the study are to determine the potential that can be developed for ecotourism activities ranging from natural resources, cultural potential, the potential energy to the availability of human resources in the district of Kutai regency. In order to determine strategic alternatives for development ecotourism in the District. Research sample includes 7 districts of Kutai Regency. The methodology used the descriptive method, however, is applicable, so it can actually be used by planners and decision makers in the development of this area.The results: (1) that the respondent has a negative perception towards tourism development because of the lack of public knowledge about the meaning, purpose and objectives / benefits of ecotourism. (2) The public has not played an active role in developing the potential of tourism products in their respective regions. (3). Alternative strategies to enhance community participation is done in a way to disseminate to all stakeholders of ecotourism.
