Abstract

The author discusses how businesses can achieve employee productivity with the newest wave of technology, such as the social media coupled with instant information via smartphones. She notes that for some employers, social network has been viewed as a integral to the company culture, while for others it is not. She also believes that finding a balance between personal networking and company productivity depends on the company's culture, employee needs and customer expectations.
