Abstract

The present article provides an overview on personality assessment in basic research and applied areas of psychology. Both descriptive and explanatory models of personality and the derived methods of assessment are presented. Further personality assessment in the applied fields of psychology is introduced focusing on clinical psychology, and touching on the topic in organizational and educational psychology.
