Abstract

The structural properties of alkyldihydroxyacetonephosphate synthase (ADPS) described by Razeto et al. (2007) in this issue of Structure provide new insights into how this peroxisomal flavoenzyme catalyzes a nonredox reaction in the conversion of an ester to an ether linkage in plasmologen biosynthesis. © 2007 Elsevier Ltd.
