Abstract

Several recent papers have applied optical methods to directly visualize the assembly of individual RecA and Rad51 filaments on DNA. The hope is that application of such methods will shed light on the many mysteries that still surround how these remarkable filaments function in genetic recombination. © 2006 Elsevier Ltd.
