Abstract

Oxidative stress due to the generation of reactive oxygen species has been implicated in many diseases. Rajasekaran et al. (2007) now make the surprising discovery that its counterpart "reductive stress," caused by an increase in reduced glutathione, contributes to cardiomyopathy triggered by protein aggregation. © 2007 Elsevier Inc.
