Abstract

Finding new ways in the treatment of fatal parasitic diseases like the human sleeping sickness is a major challenge of biomedical research. The growing body of knowledge about the biogenesis of the glycosome, a peroxisome-related organelle of trypanosomes, might allow defining novel targets for drug development. © 2005 Elsevier B.V.
