Abstract

In the present paper the analysis of the static soil-structure interaction is presented by use of a coupling method combining a finite element method with a boundary element method. The new coupling method is a so-called semianalytical one. Particular emphasis is placed on the interaction between soil and hyperbolic cooling tower. Numerical results show that the effect of the static interaction on the response of the tower structure can be neglected. © 1992.
