Abstract

Bcl2 is the founding member of a family of proteins that regulates apoptosis by controlling mitochondrial outer membrane integrity. In this issue of Molecular Cell, Wang et al. (2008) propose another function for Bcl2: the inhibition of DNA repair by nonhomologous end-joining. © 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
