In the first part of the article revelations of curriculum theory about modernizing syllabi are presented. In the second part of the article, the results of the empirical research are presented. The aim of the study was to determine the gains of curriculum reform and to alert on the problems that are aggravating the implementation of redesigned syllabi. © 2010 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
