This is an 'open' version of a collection of references that I consider 'must reads' in the field of Serious Gaming and Simulation Gaming. It is a quite biased and dynamic selection that I frequently prescribe or recommend to students and people who ask me where to start and what to read on serious gaming and simulation-gaming. It think it gives a good overview on the origins and evolution of the field, a kick start on design and research. I am open to suggestions what else to include!
