Abstract

Complexes of the type UCl2 - x(OR)x(HBPz3)2 (Pz ≡ pyrazolyl; x = 1 or 2; R ≡ CH3, C2H5, C6H5, C6H2-2,3,5-Me3) were prepared and characterized. The room temperature 1H-NMR spectra of these complexes indicated that they have equivalent pyrazolyl rings, thus showing fluxional behaviour. The dynamic process can be slowed at low temperatures but the activation energy for the rearrangement is smaller than for the related complexes UCl2 - x(X)x(HBPz3)2 (x = 1: X = NEt2, NPh2, 3,5-Me2Pz; x = 2: X ≡ SPr1, SBut; x = 1, 2: X = OBut, OPri, OC6H2-2,4,6-Me3). The structures of theeight-coordinate complexes UCl(OC6H5)(HBPz3)2 and of the previously reported UCl(OBut)(HBPz3)2 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction and are discussed. © 1989.
