Abstract

This paper proposes a subspace based blind channel estimation method in the context of the cyclic-prefixed single-carrier (CP-SC) systems. A simple repetition scheme is introduced to guarantee the channel identifiability. The proposed method exploits the circulant channel matrix property unique to the CP-SC systems and the repetition structure between two consecutive blocks. With the increasing of the repetition symbols, the number of received blocks needed in channel estimation reduces significantly, which makes it is suitable for estimation of fast varying channels. In addition, the proposed method is with low complexity because it does not use the cyclic prefixed (CP) signals. Simulation examples over time varying channel are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2009 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
