Abstract

Objective: To study the constituents of Abrus mollis. Methods: The constituents were isolated by chromatographic methods, their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic evidences. Results: Eleven compounds were purified and their structures were identified, they were identified as β-sitosterol (I), stigmasterol (II), nonacosanyl caffeate (III), daucosterol (IV), betulinic acid (V), vanillic acid (VI), inositol methyl ether (VII), sucrose (VIII), soyasaponin I (IX), kaikasaponin III (X), and dehydrosoyasaponin I (XI). Conclusion: Compounds I, III, IV, VI, and VII-XI are isolated from this plant for the first time.
