Abstract

1. 1. The chemical constituents of Dufour's gland secretions of two sympatric Xylocopa species were determined by GC-MS. 2. 2. A total of 37 hydrocarbons and fatty acid esters were found, with X. micans Dufour's containing only hydrocarbons. 3. 3. The number and relative abundance of compounds in X. v. texana differed from previously reported results. © 1983.
