Testing and quality control of compounded material through laboratory tests to provide customers with vital added value is discussed. The quality certification programmes including ISO 9000 or 9001 and QS 9000 ensure quality by mandating standardized operating procedures, documentation and testing. A wide range of laboratory tests for compounds and masterbatches are used in both development and production stages. Some important quality control (QC) tests include color, melt flow, moisture levels, bulk density, pellet count, appearance and additive levels.
