Consequences of asymmetric energy barriers to dislocation motion

Abstract

If dislocation motion in a forward direction is different from that in a backward direction because of an asymmetric energy barrier, the conjugate thermally-activated processes are related in many ways. These relations are examined using thermodynamics without a specific model. © 1970.
