Modification of quantum interference that arises from spontaneous emission in a three level atom is investigated inside an asymmetric nanostructure. The emission spectrum is analyzed and the Fano-type spectrum evaluated for different cavity parameters. It is found that this spectrum can be altered at will by judicious choice of the appropriate cavity thickness. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
