Abstract

The two-channel "α-cluster plus 16O model" is applied to 20Ne, in which effects of quadrupoletype core polarization and α-clustering are incorporated. Energy spectra, E2 transition probabilities and a spectroscopic factors for the lowest K = 0± bands are calculated and compared with experimental results. It is found that the combined contributions of the two effects can reproduce the effective charge which has been introduced in the shell model. © 1976.
