Abstract

The feasibility of incorporating desalination in an overall scheme for the reuse of agricultural drainage waters was investigated and it was found that capital and production costs, for water produced via this route, are far lower than those of more conventional methods. Consideration of this presently unutilized water resource could have important ramifications at the water-supply planning stage, specially when realistic values for fuel cost and the time-cost of money are considered.
