Abstract

A unified method of analysis for the determination of the effective thermal expansion coefficients, specific heats and thermal conductivities of unidirectional short-fiber composites is given. The overall thermal constants of long-fiber and particulate composites are obtained as special cases. In addition, the method provides the effective thermal coefficients of isotropic and quasi-isotropic composites with randomly oriented short fibers. © 1984.
