Abstract

We performed the electrical resistance measurement on a ferromagnetic rare earth element gadolinium (Gd) under high pressure using a diamond anvil pressure cell. The ferromagnetic transition temperature seems to be almost constant against the pressure and slightly increase above 3 GPa. The present experimental results are discussed in comparison with previous studies by the X-ray and the magnetization measurements on this element. © 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
