Abstract

Wear resistant Co-Mo-Si ternary metal silicide alloy consisting of Co 3Mo2Si primary dendrite and the interdendritic ductile Co-base solid solution (Coss) was designed and fabricated by the laser melting process. The alloy exhibited strong abnormal load- and temperature-dependence of wear under elevated temperature metallic sliding wear test conditions. © 2005 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
