Abstract

Very sensitive magnetization and hysteresis measurements on CuMn call in question, whether the remanent magnetization can be attributed to the whole system of impurity spins responding bodily to external perturbations. - New cycling experiments, which alter the shape of the hysteresis curve drastically, are presented. The results show that the anisotropy energy of CuMn depends on field-treatment and is neither a macroscopic nor a completely intrinsic quantity. © 1984.
