Abstract

Multicomponent analysis is a proven technique to analyze mixes of known UV-absorbing compounds in unknown amounts. While it is routinely used in spectrophotometers, its application to chromatography has so far been limited. This paper discusses an approach to obtain fast and accurate quantitation of unresolved chromatographic data, while providing for the detection of unexpected impurities. The applications of the technique to different conditions of chromatographic resolution are discussed, along with its potential for increasing sample throughput. © 1993.
