Abstract

The fracture behaviour of a martensitic steel has been investigated at temperatures where dynamic strain ageing (DSA) has been observed. It has been found that J-R characteristics deteriorated in the DSA temperature regime. A mechanism has been proposed for the observed crack jumps due to the presence of DSA. © 2006 Acta Materialia Inc.
