Single ice crystals were grown in air at low pressure (0.3 Torr) and 760 Torr at -30°C and various constant supersaturations α. As a result, it is considered that the {0001} and {101̄0} faces of many ice crystals growing in air at -30°C grow by a nucleation mechanism except for low supersaturations α < about 2%. In addition, the stability of the {0001} and {101̄0} faces of ice crystals growing in air at -30°C and 760 Torr was investigated. © 1983.
