TJ-960 is a spray-dried mixture of 9 herbal drugs. The convulsions of El mice induced by pentylenetetrazol (18 mg/kg) were completely inhibited by p.o. administration of TJ-960 at a daily dose of 1.0 g/kg both in 8-week-old and 4-week-old El mice. These findings suggest that TJ-960 has an inhibitory effect on the convulsions of this hereditary animal model of epilepsy. © 1988.
