Abstract

The reduction of methylne blue by Sn(II) in acid media is catalyzed by traces of molybdenum. The experimental order found which satisfactorily accounts for all experimental findings indicates that the catalytic action is due to the ability of the Mo(V) to bind with the reagent, forming an intermediate complex. © 1990.
