A linguistic approach to information retrieval-I

Abstract

An approach to translation between natural language and an artificial language useful for information storage and retrieval is presented. The technique is based on the "functional" generative description of language elaborated by the Prague group of algebraic linguistics. This paper concentrates on the characteristics of the artificial language. © 1974.
