Abstract

Inelastic neutron scattering (INS) measurements have been performed on Ba3CaRu2O9 and Cs4CdNi3F12 compounds. The transitions between split levels of the electronic ground state have been observed. The values measured for the exchange parameters are close to those obtained from magnetic susceptibility measurements. Calculations based on a simple spin-spin coupling model are in good agreement with the transitions observed by INS. © 1983.
