Current-annealing of Co68.15 Fe4.35 Si12.5 B15 amorphous wires has been studied at various vacuum orders. Structure-sensitive properties such as the electrical resistance during Joule heating treatment have been monitored to investigate the structural changes. Different driving currents have been flowed through the samples at different vacuums between 6 × 10- 2 and 6 × 10- 5 mbar. Regarding the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect, annealing at different vacuums but with the same current can lead to various responses. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
